My Bio

Hi reader. You’ve reached the official page of KornerPokett.

As a person in real life, I’ll start with the bizarre. I’m a Hispanic-Latino who lived in a low-income area in LA for 8 years. I grew up to be a sheltered White-washed nerd. I love anime. I love cartoons. I’ve been playing video games since I was 2. I listen to rock and Nu metal. That’s what my entire teen hood revolved around. So yeah, I’m pretty original as a Mexican dude.

I’m also an introvert. I’m the non-confrontational not-so-people person type, but not in a mean way. I suffer from social anxiety, so it spikes when I’m with people with too long. I have to go to hiding in my room in order to “recharge” before I have to go with people again. I’ve been the indoors type of guy for vast majority of my life.

On the romantic side, I’m an asexual dude, so my love life has and always never existed. A better description of how I am on romance: I’m a dead corpse. Being “romantic” is a missing software program that was never installed in me in the first place. Throughout middle and high school, while everyone else was falling in love, I wasn’t. I have never flirted with anyone in my life. I had my nose in my drawings and then playing video games when I got home. This was during a time when texting was barely even invented. People during that time have even shoved porn in my face, and not once would I ever get turned on. I don’t know what it means to be intimate, so I cannot fall in love.

[Note: Because of my asexuality, my notes aren’t open for the purpose of asking me out or flirting with me, but rather for other things like getting to know me, asking for commissions and requests that I rarely offer, and other things. I treat DA for what is—an art website—and not for what it is not—a dating app. I am asking you to do the same]

Personally, I do NOT BS my work; in fact, I take my time to make sure it looks legit and the real deal. I'm dedicated to making it accordingly.

However, I do have a rulebook I abide by as an artist. I have the whole thing spelled out for you.

Here is the full version right here:

m-pawndragon.deviantart.com/jo…

WON’T DO:

I will not do

  1. Nude Art You're reading about a guy who has never drawn x-rated content once. Not even once. I'm a rated G, PG, and PG-13-type artist [By that, I'm talking like peril, occasional macabre and horror, blood, and semi-violence. And nothing else] and I always will be. I don't care if it's censored with black bars, I still won't do it.

  2. Fetish Art I totally care less about it, I'm not gonna lie [I get the logic behind it, but I just keep scrolling with an indifferent attitude]. But if it starts to get to the point where y'all start asking me to do some for you, I won't. I feel very uneasy with this.

[Exception: I can only fix anything that falls under weight gain/inflation topics over-the-top and exaggerated characters with a transformative intent. I will not do as you wish, but I will fix them by changing the meaning via it's image, of course, into a normal and modest one. Click link above to my rulebook to see what I mean by “fixing” requests]

  1. Dinosaur Art I have never drawn one in my whole life. I suck at it! And I know I'm gonna suck at it. It's just that I've never really quite had the kind of interest of wanting, much less, even engaging in drawing them. I just can't do it, or felt like it. But, however, if you want me to do a request involving a cartoon or anime dinosaur, I will get down on it. Those are the only two exceptions.

If it's a real dinosaur that you're asking me to draw, all I can do is apologize.

MEH'S:

  1. Realism I have never...really..done anything realistic on my down time. I only did sketches and shading of realistic art for my art classes in the past. If you are asking me for an extremely detailed request, it's going to be a no-go. Apparently, I suck at taking on these kinds of requests.

  2. Bland or Unfamiliar Topics This is pretty much self-explanatory, speaking for itself. If your request involves a specific topic that I'm not familiar with what you're referring to, I won't do it. You are reading about an easily-entertained artist. I need a topic that's gonna make me jump out of my seat and get down on it.

I.e. Let's say you want me to do a request/commission/or whatever on Donkey Kong characters, or Alien [from Alien, Alien vs. Predator, Predators, etc. etc.] Unfortunately, I..won't..really do it. If it's not something that I grew up watching or knowing, especially if it's something that I didn't really play, etc. I'm not really going to feel like doing it.

  1. 60s and 70s Cartoons Honestly, I really...don't...dig cartoons from the 60s and 70s [Excluding ones from Movies, such as ones from Disney movies from the 60s and 70s]. I've [tried] watching cartoons from that era, but to me, they just..aren't...that...good, and neither to me are they even funny. They give me a very weird vibe toward them at the end of the day. I mean, these are the kinds of shows I'm talking about

The Flintstones, The Jetsons, Scooby-Doo, Yogi Bear, Pink Panther [Although I do kinda like him] Squirrel and Moose, Huckleberry Hound, Magilla Gorilla, Wacky Races, Top Cat, Speed Buggy, Flash Gordon, Jabberjaw, Johnny Quest, Captain Caveman and the Teen Angels, Mission: Magic! Hong Kong Phooey, Goober and the Ghost Chasers, Help!... It's the Hair Bear Bunch! Dastardly and Muttley and their Flying Machines

However, I have a few exceptions to this kind of request.

The later Tom and Jerry [60s and 70s] The later Looney Tunes [60s and 70s] The Jungle Book, 101 Dalmatians, Robin Hood, The Sword and the Stone, The Rescuers, The Aristocats [Maybe. I just might. Didn't really grow up watching this] and early Don Bluth art, such as Elliot from Pete's Dragon

Other than that, the 60 and 70s wasn't a really good time slot for me on cartoons...

*Fanfiction: Journals feat. Me or Vice Versa

If you want me to feature you in my story, feel free to ask; put me to work!

If you want to feature me in your story, I sure would love to

Gifts: Yes, I will do them. And no, that does not mean that you automatically win my friendship. I've heard of trolls screwing over hard-working artists who are trying to do their best to bring the definition of awesome to life, so hands down and hats off to you, awesome people. For those of you trolls out there, you know who you are. Either you stop scamming and stealing art and start working for your talent or piss off. And no questions asked. It's not cute.

Other than that, if you're just cool, it takes time to get to know someone and for that to grow. If you're a big or hardcore fan of me [I highly doubt that I have one myriad of fans tho], err well I have to see first, but that's all within my voluntary decision to give you an art gift. I have to get to know you first. Only then will I start talking about giving gifts, but that's between friends.

Requests: Because of all the things I've been hearing about trolls exploiting other artists on twitter, this is now only between friends. I have to get to know you first before I can just give to you a request. I'm only going to give you for what it's worth, which is only going to be in sketch form. Not giving digital art with these. Look at what I have to say for commissions if you want digital stuff done.

Commissions: Needless to say, these obviously are gonna cost $$$, €€€, ¥¥¥, £££, of course. Right now, I don’t have a price chart since I can’t really say by experience what sounds like a fair price. Since I don’t have one, please ask me about prices. I want to be fair and as reasonable as possible, but I will not go any lower below a set reasonable price, to avoid being ripped off. Neither will I charge you anything higher, so that you don’t get ripped off either. I want to be fair about prices for both of our sakes, the artist and client alike, so I am asking you as politely as I can to please be fair about prices because I am more than willing to go out of my way of being fair also. I don't want conflict of financial burdens with putting price tags on commissions. If you want me to draw it in your art style, I’m gonna have to look at it first. I'll do the best I can to make it as close to yours. If you want me to do it freehand and no strings attached, meaning that I can make it however I want, I will. Just for the record, I'll make sure to do my best while being extra careful.

Trades: That depends on your art style. I respect your talent, and like anything else, talent is earned by working for it; so with all due of my utmost respect, I am asking you to please do your best [I'm pretty high-maintenance of an artist]. I will see and ultimately know whether you tried or not. Like the last two excluding commissions, trades are definitely for friends, NOT strangers

Collabs: That's between friends. Like I said before, I think it's common knowledge that you already know to take your time to putting effort to it, and I trust that you do. The only condition that I have for this is that this has to be a common ground of a topic that both [if more that one artist, all] of us can agree on. Negotiate with me through notes about this. If you are one artist asking to co-op, it's a one-on-one negotiation. If you are coming to me in multiples, let's all brainstorm and help to figure out what we all think is cool and agree upon.

Personal Confession

In case I take a long time, I apologize, but I am a horrible keeper of my art schedule. I do not, I repeat, do not ever forget your requests, I just take a really long time of getting them done. Again, I apologize, and I do not ever want to disappoint my fans and especially clients, but due to years of learning professional procrastination I am horrible at staying on schedule…

…but, however, in spite of my lagging tendencies, my work for you will still be done. I have them written down.

My Promise

I hate BS work. I'm a perfectionist, and I take my time with things until it looks like the real deal thing. It bothers me if it does not come out the way I want it to, so I will never hand you BS crap work. EVER. That's why I'm dedicated to giving you the cream of the crop for work. It's what I love to do.

If it's not spot-on perfect, then my name's not M-PawnDragon

Oh, yes, I almost forgot, I’m a dragon-lover. You gonna see a lot of dragons on my gallery. Rawr! \m/

I'm currently using Clip Studio Paint and currently finishing up a drawing. Boy, oh boy, this is a pain. In. My. BUTT!!! I can't stress enough on how much this is pissing me off. I've watched probably more than 3 videos posted by 3 different youtubers. I messed around with each setting as instructed, and I'm getting the same results. The select tool won't select portions within the lines drawn, and coloring in the portions are killing my butt!! RRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHHH!!! A part of me wants to give up. Another says, "NO! You wanted this, mister! Keep drawing!!" But it ended up taking up the entire holiday just to get things right! I'm so tired of the fact that I can't get the effects I want! Anybody here got any hot tips? I know this is my first time doing digital art on Clip Studio, but I want to get it right the first time. I know, wishful thinking, and it's all trial and error. But, ugh...

The blood. In my very veins. Are burning. In utter rage. It's come to my attention that Clip Studio Paint has committed an abomination; they have sold out every single aspiring artist who do art digitally both novice and veteran alike, according to posts on social media. They did it. They freakin did it. They threw us all under the bus. They did it just because they want to make money. They're hopping on that "premium membership" bullcrap that Microsoft did with their Microsoft Office programs. We are not piggy banks or ATMs!! We artists are real human beings with real lives living with real problems with our own, namely finances. We are combating financial battles in silence as we weep and cry. We can barely afford for our own damn selves! This is not Spotify nor Disney+!! We, the average consumer, are here to buy their products, not rent them. That's the damn point to consumerism. We make a one-time purchase, and should be ours for life. No questions asked. It's obvious they
